The Passion of The Christ
by Miss Movies
Hit (not suitable for children or persons with easy gag reflexes) – Starring James Caviezel, Monica Bellucci. Produced and directed by Mel Gibson.
The Passion of The Christ depicts the last twelve hours of the life of Jesus. The story begins at the garden of Gethsemane where Jesus is praying. Shortly after his prayer Judas arrives to betray Jesus and have him arrested. The film continues with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
A beautiful peace of art directed magnanimously by Mel Gibson. While this movie is horribly difficult to watch it is a film that will make you think (and sometimes make you cringe). I can’t imagine what it is like to be Jim Caviezel in this film. I really did feel as though he was in an enormous amount of pain. Jim, wherever you are, your performance was unforgettable. Bottom Line: Good movie, but rent this film when you are in the mood to watch it.
Best Scene: Every flashback sequence, although, I also like when the children are running after Judas.
Rated R for sequences of graphic violence.

Welcome to Mooseport
by Miss Movies
Hit (rental material)- Starring Raymond Romano, Gene Hackman, Maura Tierney, Marcia Gay Harden, Christine Baranski, Fred Savage
The President (Hackman) has retired to a small New England town called Mooseport. The people of Mooseport encourage the former President to run for mayor in the hopes that he will help them make necessary changes. In order to keep the race fair, local hardware store owner Handy Harrison decides to run against him. The political race begins with a feeling of mutual respect, but quickly turns into a war when the President pursues Handy’s girlfriend (Tierney).
Although this comedy has a simple structure and moderate laughs, the movie is made funny by the comedic timing and acting performances. Christine Baranski is a mild player in this comedy but she lights up the screen with her charm and enthusiasm. Bottom line: You will like this comedy.
Best Scene: Golfing with the President.
Rated PG-13 for some brief sexual comments and nudity.

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen
by Miss Movies
Miss – Starring Lindsay Lohan, Carol Kane, Adam Garcia
When a teenage Broadway dreamer suddenly moves to New Jersey her hopes of becoming the next big New York star are crushed. Lola (Lohan) makes the best of her situation by focusing on getting the lead in the school musical, seeing her favorite band perform for the last time, and dreaming about how her life should be.
This movie doesn’t know what it wants to be. The story concerning Lola’s favorite band, Sid Arthur, should have been cut out of the film entirely. This story did not enhance the plot, or really make any sense. I enjoyed the story about her competition for the lead in the school play and the rivalries she makes in her new environment. Bottom Line: Keep it simple, not stupid.
Best Scene: Opening sequence when Lohan needs to move away.
Rated PG for mild thematic elements and brief language.

50 First Dates
by Miss Movies
Hit- Starring Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore
Henry Roth (Sandler) meets Lucy (Barrymore) and discovers, in one afternoon, that she is the woman of his dreams. The problem is that Lucy has short term memory and cannot remember any new information for more than one day. Henry Roth does everything in his power to make her fall in love with him everyday.
Cute with a fresh premise. This movie will make you laugh and will make you feel sad that Lucy cannot remember anything. The characters and the story is easy to follow. You will laugh, you will cry, and even though the ending is not exactly what you might have expected, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Best Scene: When Lucy beats up one of Henry’s friends.
Rated PG-13 on appeal for crude sexual humor and drug references.

Running Time: 1 hour 39 minutes
