Hit- Starring John Travolta, Joaquin Phoenix, Jacinda Barrett

The firefighters of Ladder 49 have just responded to the worst fire of the year. Now they must save one of their beloved veterans, Jack Morrison (Joaquin Phoenix), from the blazes of death. As Jack struggles to survive, he reflects on his life as a beginning firefighter, a husband, and a father.

Travolta, Phoenix, & Barrett bring us an inspiring story of the everyday heros that protect us from the ravages of civilization. Told through the eyes of a rookie Baltimore Firefighter we see his life from his hilarious first day on through years of peril, risk, life, death, & firehouse comradery. You can really feel the closeness of the brotherhood that never knows what will come when the fire bell rings. Is it just another kitchen fire in a four story walk-up or the towering inferno ? Told in flashback mode from the heart of ‘the big fire’ you are constantly bounced from unbelieveable danger to moments of real laughter. All three of the lead actors get high marks for this effort. They were truly believeable right down to the teary eyed finish. Bottom line: You’ll love this movie.

Rated PG-13 for intense fire and rescue situations, and for language.
