Hit- Starring Will Smith, Angelina Jolie, Renee Zellweger, Jack Black, Martin Scorsese, and Robert De Niro
You can’t swim from the mob in this under-the-sea comedy. Bottom Feeder, Oscar (Smith), is tired of being at the bottom of the food-chain. While vegetarian shark, Lenny(Black), is hurt by the lack of support from his mobster family and finds himself wanting to escape their mobster lifestyle. One day, Lenny pairs up with Oscar to devise a plan to make Oscar look like a shark slayer. This plan will allow Lenny to escape his family undetected. But, everything does not go as planned and Oscar soon realizes that his heroic efforts may have dangerous consequences.
If you like “Finding Nemo, you will definitely like “Shark Tale. I’m beginning to think these cartoon movies make more sense to adults than kids. The conversions that the writers make from human life to fish life are hilarious and genius. Having the sharks as the mob family was perfect. The all-star cast and soundtrack make it that much better.
The story was cute, but of course had to have the moral that most kid’s movies have: it doesn’t matter what you look like or how much money you have, you’re still special and have people that love you. But hey, in a world of plastic surgery reality shows, kids sometimes need to be reminded of that. Bottom Line: If you want to see your favorite actors and actresses as fish and catch a funny movie, “Shark Tale” is the movie for you.
Fish who looks most like their celebrity voice: Missy Elliott; at the end of the film.
Best Scene: When the poor little shrimp is about to be eaten and starts begging the shark not to eat him by telling him his life story.
Rated PG for some mild language and crude humor.
