Hit – Starring Jimmy Falon, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Esposito, Gisele Bundchen, Anne-Margret, Christian Kane
Police officer Washburn(Fallon) has been stripped of his liscence, due to a horrible driving record. In order to solve a string of bank robberies, Washburn must team up with experienced cabdriver Belle (Latifah). Washburn and Belle find themselves in a cat and mouse chase around New York City.
What do you get when you mix a straight laced cop with a wild and crazy cab driver? Laughs, laughs, and more laughs. I realize that this movie was not well received by my fellow movie critics but there is one thing that separates me from them… a generation (maybe several, depending on their age). For those people who are in the age range of 35 and younger I would highly recommend this comedy of errors. Jimmy Falon delivers an over-the-top performance which is easily brought down by Queen Latifah’s cool karismatic character. This duo is dynamite. Ann-Margret plays Fallon’s likeable drunk mother provides many comedic moments. The plot of this movie is simple, but the characters make this movie very likeable.
Bottom Line: A movie to be enjoyed by the 35 and younger crowd.
Good fun movie theatre antics: A row of 6th graders sat in front of us at this movie. One point towards the end of the movie a boy poured his entire bucket of popcorn on the boy sitting next to him. It was extremely hilarious.
Rated PG-13 for language, sensuality and brief violence.
