Treasure hunters Dirk Pitt (McConaughey) and Al (Zahn) are looking for a lost battleship from the Civil War. Believing the ship has been stranded in the Sahara, the gentlemen set out on a journey and end up getting more trouble than they intended.
A highly entertaining thrill ride, this movie gets off to a great start and never lets up. I enjoyed the various plot thickening agents and action sequences. There was never a dull moment in this film. Although I am not a big fan of Penelope Cruz I found her to be refreshing alongside McConaughy and Zahn. The entire cast delivers great performances and the action sequences keep the audience constantly entertained.
Best Scene: Pulling a “Panama.”
