I think it is time I say good night and good luck to the series that is “Lost.” After watching the two hour season finale, I have to say that I was extremely disappointed.
If “Lost” is going to end the season focusing on a minor character they should have focused on Henry Gale and his back story. That would have been a lot more interesting than focusing on Desmond. Don’t get me wrong, I feel the Desmond background was important and needed to be addressed but certainly this could have been done the week before the finale. The finale should have focused on a character from the Dharma Inititave or the Hanzo corporation which would have given viewers something to think about over the summer. Unfortunately “Lost” writers saw otherwise.
By the end of the episode, I really didn’t care that Sawyer, Jack, and Kate were gagged. I didn’t care that the button wasn’t pushed, I didn’t care that – even though he is the smartest person on the island-people still don’t listen to Sayid, I didn’t care that possibly Locke and Echo died, and I certainly didn’t care about the four-toed statue. The statue made me believe that the survivors are on “Skull” island and the statue was paying homage to King Kong, but that is just a fleeting fun thought.
So, unless “Lost” has some spectacular idea to jump start season four, I have to say so-long. It has been great, and I know you will make an excellent DVD collection someday. Best of luck with keeping viewers tuned in.
