Hit – Starring Julia Stiles, Liev Schreiber, Mia Farrow
A remake of the 1976 horror classic The Omen (1976); an American government ambassador realizes that his son may be the devil.
This movie is an adequate remake of the original. Although, I don’t believe anyone can top the performance of Gregory Peck, I still feel that this movie keep you on the edge of your seat. The overall look of the film is very stunning and timeless. I really had no sense of what year it was thanks to basic (but bold) costuming and lighting.
The overall best performance of the film is Mia Farrow as the nanny. At the beginning you really like her character, but then you realize she is just as bad as Damien.
Damien himself is scary looking because of his bland expressions and slow movements. I have a feeling this child actor will be in my classroom next year, and that would be horrifying.
Overall: A descent remake, but hopefully they will not remake the sequels.
