My new love: Smallville Seasons 1, 2, 4, and 5
by Miss MoviesHit – Starring Tom Welling, Kristin Kreuk, Michael Rosenbaum, Allison Mack, Erica Durance, John Schneider, Annette O’Toole, John Glover
A teenage Clark Kent stuggles with learning about his alien powers and how to channel them. While dealing with his changes, Clark must also deals with the typical troubles of teenage life in Smallville.
As you may have noticed, Season three did not make the cut of my favorite Smallville seasons. This is due to the fact that season three is not that great. A few choice episodes helped season three from peril, but it did not further the overall plot line of the story. Seaons one and two were especially interesting because we were able to see Clark obtaining his powers and teaching himself how to use them in a discrete manner. It is also interesting to see the love triangle between Chole, Lana, and Clark. By the end of season two, most people really want Lana and Clark to be together. By the end of Season four, however, I am so tired of their yo-yo relationship that I really want one of them to leave the show (Lana, obviously). Which is difficult because Lana is the mainstream eye candy of the show (although I personally really like Chole and Lois).
The characters of Lex and Lionel Luther are expertly played by Michael Rosenbaum and John Glover. They play the characters exactly how villians should be played. And, thanks to the writers, they are able to expertly create a fantastic villian. The best part about their characters is they are conflicted with wanting to be good or to do good that they really make the audience think they can eventually be a good character. Then, something horrible will happen and you will realize that they will never be good characters. Although, there is still hope for Lionel – I truly believe this.
The best part about Smallville for me: always wondering, “How is Clark going to get out of this?” Even though I know he will since there are always more episodes to watch. Somehow I still manage to ask this question every episode.
The one idea of Smallville that really makes me angry is ending the season with a cliffhanger. I believe only one season did not end with a cliffhanger (season three maybe). Right now I am desperately awaiting the beginning of season six because season five left us in major peril. How is Clark going to escape the wrath of Zod? If you know, please email me. I won’t tell anyone!
Favorite Comedic Episode: Spirit – (Synopsis from box) It’s her big night! A car accident in a ravine filled with Kryptonite gives a wannabe prom queen’s spirit the power to take over the bodies of others.
