Chazz (Ferrell) and Jimmy (Heder) are permanently banned from competing in the men’s singles figure skating division after a gold medal dispute which led to a fist fight on the podium. The only way they can still compete is to team together in the pairs division.

Blades of Glory is a Will Ferrell movie that delivers continuous humor throughout the duration of the film. I found myself enjoying the entire film, and constantly laughing at the jokes. Obviously this movie has over-the-top humor areas but it plays well into the overall theme of the film. Will Ferrell is finally back! Bottom Line: Blades of Glory has won a gold medal in my heart.

Planet Terror Review: I wasn’t a fan of this B-movie as it was overall gory and gross. The infected people had lesions that looked horrifying and I could hardly watch the entire movie without shuddering or covering my eyes. It was too over -the-top with gore and blood. I was really expecting great things from this director as I am a fan of his movie “Once Upon a Time in Mexico.” Unfortuantely Robert let me down with this unsatisfying zombie-horror movie. I actually thought about leaving and then returning to the movie once intermission had started but I thought maybe the film would calm itself down. All I have to say is, it didn’t. I also felt sorry for the people who left at intermission as they did not get to see the film that was actually a good work of cinema.

Death Proof Review: I really enjoyed this A-movie film by Mr. Tarantino. Generally, I have enjoyed all of his films (with the exception of Pulp Fiction which I was not a fan of) and I found this movie to be equally as good as his previous works. I will say that I do not always like the movies he produces as they are not as meticulously executed as the movies he directs. The characters of this film were very interesting and they had great range. I feel the casting of this film was particularly excellent. Kurt Russell was a creepy villian and the ladies he stalked were colorful characters (djs, travelers, actresses, stuntwomen). This movie was far superior to the previous film (and well worth sticking around).

Rating: This movie is rated R but please do not bring your children to see this movie. Anyone under 16 should not be in the theatre. Parents, do the right thing- if you can’t find a babysitter, then stay home with your children- do not take them with you to see this movie. It is simply not appropriate for all ages.

Bottom Line: An enjoyable experience.

Exploitation/slasher/zombie horror

A forgettable Disney Hit Starring Angela Bassett, Laurie Metcalf, Daniel Hansen, Jordan Fry, Matthew Josten, Wesley Singerman

Lewis is a genius child inventor who meets Wilbur Robinson on the day of the science fair. Wilbur takes Lewis to his time machine and together they team up to capture the “Bowler Hat Man” who has been causing problems for the Robinson family.

This movie was entertaining but a little complicated to its mean-average audience member. Children will like the movie for its use of futuristic ideas and inventions. But the overall plot of the film is slightly complicated at times that young children may not understand exactly what is happening. Even though it has its faults, the movie enjoyable to watch overall.

Bottom Line: Good entertainment for the whole family, but I could meet these Robinsons at the video store.

Bob Lee Swagger (Wahlberg) is a reclusive ex-army trained professional sniper is coerced into helping the government track down a man who they believe is planning a presidental assassination. Unfortunately for Swagger, the corrupt government men have double-crossed and framed him for the attempted assassination. In order to prove his innocence, Swagger must bring down the men who set him up.

I really enjoyed the action and adventure this film had to offer. Mark Wahlberg does an incredible job of creating a character that is tough and troubled. At the same time, the audience feels empathetic towards his situation and is cheering for him to bring down the bad guys. The director does a great job of creating a specific mood for the film (payback) and provides action and characters that compliment the script and overall story.
Bottom Line: Shoot me!
