I saw National Treasure: Book of Secrets on Christmas day and I have come to the conclusion that seeing a movie on Christmas day is no longer what it used to be. Before, it use to be something that not a lot of people do. The first film I can remember seeing on Christmas day was Father of the Bride Part 2 which came out in 1995 (I was 14 at the time). It was seeing Cheaper By the Dozen in 2003 (I was 22) when I realized that going to the theatre on Christmas was becoming more popular. Now, at 26 I have decided that next year (when I am 27) I will go to the movies on Christmas Eve (which I hear is less popular).

With that being said I would like to say that National Treasure was the only movie that I could see on Christmas day due to the other films that were out:

Alvin and the Chipmunks – already saw it
I am Legend – saw it, but it wouldn’t be appropriate for Christmas
Sweeney Todd- not appropriate for Christmas
Dewey Cox – looks like a film I would not like
Alien v. Predator – not appropriate for Christmas

Next year, I think I will attempt to see a movie on Christmas eve to avoid the Christmas day crowds at the theatre.
